Okay ... I took everyone's advice and kept on going. What a difference a couple of hours make! Sharon's technique for building the face is wonderful. I was so excited to see my little face coming together.
I'm not sure about the shadow placement and I feel as if the nose can be a lot more defined .. but so far, so good. Also, the little valley above the lip - I've always hated painting those, LOL, so I'm still working on that.
Her braids .. I need to get some highlights in there .. but this is basically what I saw in my head when I signed up for Sharon's class - and I am so glad I did. I can't wait to finish this, so I can continue on with the other exercises.
So far, so good though .. thanks to all for the encouragement!!

ReplyDeleteShe is going to be a beauty. You can pop her nose out with a little strategically placed highlight or light value of paint.

ReplyDeleteShe is lovely Keni. You are doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteI think she looks lovely! Love altered art. It is so much fun. Excellent job!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job with the face Keni! I think the shading around the nose looks great. She has a very thoughtful expression. Keep looking past all the "mistakes" you think are there. It's so easy to get bogged down in the little details - but if you keep the big picture in mind & move forward - it usually ends up looking great! Thanks for sharing your journey.
ReplyDeleteKeni!!!!!!! She's awesome!!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteFor someone who says they aren't very good with mixed media, you sure put out an awesome piece of art with this! I love that face!
